Worship
I am on the staff at my church. My title is Pastor of music and technology. That is just a fancy term for the worship leader. Leading worship is something I really enjoy doing. I love singing praise to my Father in heaven for sending his one and only son to take my place on the cross. However sometimes when I am leading worship for the congregation, I have found that my mind is almost everywhere except on the one I am singing about. I am concentrating on the music, making sure we are in rhythm with each other and that all the notes are on pitch or that the congregation is connecting with what we are singing about. These are all important things to be thinking about but they are distracting. I said all of that to say this... that I love to worship in private. Just me, my guitar and God. It is an amazing time. I always leave that time just filled up and usually with a new song in my heart to share with the congregation. I have come to the conclusion that I really need to be in these times of worship more regularly and as often as possible. I know what you are going to say..."duh, that is a no brainer". Well you will have to excuse me, sometimes I am a slow learner. Even and ordained Pastor can be a little dense from time to time.
